Original diagnosis/description
Leafy shoots with circular leaf whorls of typically 36 mm (sometimes up to 70 mm) diameter; each whorl with 11- 30 (typically 20) linear-lanceolate, 2.0- 2.5 mm wide, rather lax leaves with acute to bluntly acute apex, basally fused to 1.0- 1.5 m wide collar.
