Original diagnosis/description
Frond at least bipinnate. Rachis comparatively broad and smooth. Pinnae alternate, linear to lanceolate; pinna rachis thin. Pinnae attached at an angle of 40°–70° to the rachis. Pinnules deltoid-oval, and attached with the whole base; margin of pinnule entire or slightly wavy. Pinnule apex obtuse. Sori arranged in two rows between the lateral margins and the midvein of the pinnule, 1–3 in each row (usually 2). Sori circular, 0.6–0.8 in diameter, consisting of 4–6 sporangia (usually 5); indusium lacking. Sporangia oval, with a diameter of 0.3–0.4 mm; annulus entire, transverse and consisting of one row of elongated cells. Each sporangium with probably 256 (varying from 200 to 300) trilete spores. Spores triangular to subtriangular in polar view, with rounded apices. Laesurae straight and raised, extending to 2/3–3/4 of spore radius. Both proximal and distal surface of spore smooth (psilate). Perispore not observed. Exine thin, 0.5–0.8 μm in thickness. Spore diameter 32.5–41 μm in equatorial view, averaging 38.5 μm.
