Original diagnosis/description

Medium-sized cylindrical cone with a wide axis bearing helically and densely arranged microsporophylls. Microsporophylls obovate with rounded and obtuse apex. Cutinized distal half, proximal half consisting of ovoid pollen sacs arranged in a ring, not forming clusters.

Etymology

The epithet refers to the shape of the microsporophyll.
