Original diagnosis/description
As for the genus. Of the 245 spheres measured. 67% have diameters be tween 3.1 and 5 μm. Table 1 summarizes morphologic characteristics of the taxon.

Proterozoic, Mesoproterozoic
The fossiliferous outcrops occur 2,900 m below the lowest metazoan trace fossils, are younger than 1.7 b.y. and are correlated to the Apache Group of Arizona, bracketed between radiometric ages of 1.2 and 1.4 b.y.

Locality 3 of 24/11/66 – Black laminated chert beds 18.5 m below the upper contact of the Beck Spring Dolomite in the southern Alexander Hills, northeastern San Bernardino County, California, 1 km due east of the Acme Talc Mine in saddle of ridge at about 903 m elevation, unsurveyed NE¼, sec. 9, T19N, R8E, of Tecopa Quadrangle, California (1:62,500).
