Original diagnosis/description
Winged structure circular with dark, thick striations radiating around obovate seed body, seed body with rugulate sculpture.
Etymology
The genus is Greek for “variegated winged seed” with “ptero-” for “wing”, “-heterochros-” for “variegated” and “-sperma” for “seed.
