Original diagnosis/description
Sepals fused up to half of their length forming a campanulate calyx, petals free and ovate, length of the staminal tube approximately half of the stamens.
Etymology
The species is named after Pieter W. Leenhouts (1926–2004) honouring his excellent contributions to the revision of the Canarium genus.
