Original diagnosis/description
Small amphistomatic leaves with medium dense parallel venation and about 3 prominent strands of sclerotic tissues between two veins. Adaxial and abaxial cuticles indistinguishable. Stomatal complexes large, dense in rows. Crescent guard cells with swallow-tail polar ends, reniform lateral cells and irregular shaped polar cells. Presence of small ordinary cells and pavement cells in the stomatal row.
