Original diagnosis/description
Amphistomatic leaves with infrequent venation, 3–5 thin veins alternate with each thick vein. Adaxial cuticle with oblong cells and stomata in very infrequent stomatal rows, abaxial cuticle with oblong, trapezoidal or polygonal cells, stomata in well defined stomatal rows forming a stomatiferous band. There are 2 oval, polygonal to lenticular polar and 2 oblong or trapezoidal lateral subsidiary cells.

From the Mělník Coals, the stratigraphical type unit.
