Seed with two planes of bisymmetry. Surface with fine striations radiating spirally from the hilar scar. Flat lateral surface in coronal orientation but rounded convex on the other two lateral surfaces. Seed with cylindrical opercular channel terminated by a multilayered operculum. Micropylar collar absent but seed coat extremely thickened in the hilar half of the seed. Chalazal cavity present, lensoidal, with a thin partition separating it from the embryo cavity. Raphe canal prominent, passing longitudinally within the seed coat of a flattened face of the seed. The thick wall near the hilum is composed mainly of parenchyma tissue.
