Leaves circular to obovate, not trumpet shaped, of the noto- to mesophyllous size class; central area with reticulate venation restricted to the basal two-thirds of the lamina; primary veins forming a thickened midrib on the adaxial surface; reticulate venation of the central area rather regular with parallel secondary veins still discernible.
Etymology
The specific name is derived from the latin ‘pharao’, the common title of the kings of Ancient Egypt, due to the large size of leaves of the species.
