Original diagnosis/description
Seeds rounded to weakly triangular in cross section, ovate in longitudinal outline, rounded at the base and gradually tapering into a distinct elongated micropylar tube. Sclerified layer of seed wall consisting of two parts. Outer part composed of one layer of more or less isodiametric stone cells frequently with angular lumina; inner part consisting of 2–3 layers of elongated stone cells 2–3 times longer than broad. Micropylar tube long, narrow and thinly cutinised.
Etymology
From the Baltic Sea in which the island of Bornholm is located.
