Original diagnosis/description
Endocarps elongated ovoid, fusiform or guttiform, apex acuminating into style base. Endocarp one-loculed, two-valved with dehiscence along a marginal suture. External surface with one to nine conspicuous, usually high longitudinal ribs, extending from the base to the middle of the endocarp. Locule guttiform, tapering into a long apical stylar canal. Surface of locule smooth with small equiaxial cells. Endocarp wall consists of small, isodiametric stone cells; thickness of wall at dehiscence plane about 0.3 mm.
