Original diagnosis/description
Species of the genus Groenlandia, characterized by a spiked crest on the keel of the thin exocarp. Number of drupe-like fruits (=flowers) per spike 2–4 [– 6]. Leaves amplexicaul and (sub-)oppositely arranged throughout the shoot, without observable stipule-like appendages.
Etymology
In honour of Dr. Michael Pescher (Adrian Basalt Company), for his continuous support of the early scientific excavations at Enspel during the 1990s.
