Original diagnosis/description

Characters of the species as those of the genus. Pinnae with two longitudinally disposed ridges at the adaxial surface. Pinnules lobed with revolute margins, about 25–35 sporangia per sorus. Sporangia up to 0.6 mm long and 0.45 mm in maximum diameter. Stalk three to five cells long, four cells wide. Spores 45–63 μm in diameter with arms of the trilete that extend across two-thirds to three-quarters of the proximal surface; exine psilate-levigate or gently undulating.

Etymology

The specific epithet complura (Latin, complura = several) refers to the numerous sposangia that comprise each sorus.
