Original diagnosis/description
Infructescence consisting of a main axis bearing helically arranged lateral subunits. Subunits composed of a median bract and two lateral prophylls supporting a single follicle. Follicle ovate, probably astipitate, with a convex dorsal and a slightly convex ventral side. Ventral slit facing the infructescence axis, apparently along the entire length of the follicle and extending over the topological apex to the abaxial side, where the stigma is located. Stigma indistinct, double crested, with smooth, glabrous surface. Follicle surface wrinkled. Follicle wall thick. Surface of infructescence and follicle covered by dense indumentum of uniseriate trichomes
