Original diagnosis/description

Radially or slightly bilaterally symmetrical synangia composed of closely appressed, elongate, exannulate sporangia; synangium enlarged at base by a parenchymatous tissue; sporangia appressed centrally at midlevels, sporangial tips blunt and curving over central hollow area; synangia sessile on lower surface of pecopterid pinnules. Outer facing sporangial walls at least two cells thick, inner facing walls one cell thick; dehiscence by the rupture of elongate cells ccupying the midline of the inner facing sporangial walls.
