Original diagnosis/description
Pollen small, almost circular in equatorial outline, monocolpate. Colpus extending for the full length of the grains. Exine semitectate-reticulate and columellate. Reticulum heteropolar and heterobrochate; microreticulate on the proximal face with lumina on distal face only slightly smaller than lumina in the equatorial region. Muri smooth with slightly rounded profile, supported by short, scattered columellae. Colpus margin distinct, formed by the
continuing marginal muri of the adjacent reticulum, which is characterized by a line of smaller lumina.
