Original diagnosis/description
Pollen minute, spheroidal and pantoporate with simple apertures. Exine tectate-vermiculate with widely spaced stout conical microechinae. Aperture
membranes granular to verrucate. Orbicules not observed.
Etymology
From Latin: vermiculatus referring to the worm-shaped, winding sculptural elements.
