Original diagnosis/description
Dispersed ovules/seeds, attachment unknown; fertile scale (epimatium) completely enclosing ovule/seed except for micropyle, consisting of flaccid parenchymatous tissue. Ovule integument/seed coat consisting of three layers: outer thick sarcotesta comprising sclerenchymatous cells; middle sclerotesta thin, consisting of hard stony cells; inner endotesta thin. Micropylar canal elongate, micropylar opening distinctly visible in places; megasporangium/nucellus fused with integument perhaps from base up to micropylar canal, fused at base to form a nucellar pad.
